Camp Courage Junior Counselor Application 2025The Junior Counselor program is for teens 16-18 years old who would like to further enhance their leadership skills by learning what it’s like to be a camp counselor. Please read the following information carefully: The Application deadline is June 19th, 2026. All parts of the application, including 1-2 references, must be received by this date. Applications received without at least one reference will not be considered. The Camp Directors will determine who will be accepted for the Junior Counselor Program. Placement in the program is based on qualifications and is at the discretion of the Camp Directors. Junior Counselors can receive community service hours. Our camp this year will be held from July 7th - 12th. Staff and JCs are required to attend an overnight training on July 6th as well. Camp Courage is housed at the Balarat Outdoor Education Center near Jamestown Colorado, about 50 miles northwest of Denver. Essential Responsibilities: Act as an appropriate role model at all times. Encourage and model respect for others, camp equipment, and facilities. Travel with and oversee campers on their daily activities. Manage cleanliness, safety, bedtime, and wake up time. Assist in making the camp atmosphere comfortable, fun, and safe for campers. Assist with cleaning up after meals. Help facilitate evening activities. Manage campers during daily afternoon staff meetings.
